September 10, 2023 | Kickoff 2023-2024 Scholarship Year
On Sunday, September 10, 2023, The Bridge Foundation kicked off the 2023-2024 scholarship year with a member social at the home of one of our long-standing members, Paul Jorgensen. In addition to snacks and drinks and Panthers Football, 2019 Scholarship recipient Jordan Cabrol came and spoke to our organization about her successes since receiving the scholarship. Ms. Cabrol recently graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with degrees in Business Administration and Sustainability Studies. She was also able to utilize her studies to create opportunities to participate in international business programs in Denmark and Hong Kong!
Thanks to all that attended, as well as Mac’s Speed Shop and Olde Mecklenburg Brewery for the refreshments!
December 5,2022 | Christmas Dinner
On December 5 2022, the Bridge Foundation members came together at The Protagonist Southside to start the Holiday season! A good time was had by all, and several newcomers were introduced to what the Foundation is doing for the Mecklenburg area students.
June 1,2022 | Scholarship Recipient Dinner
The Bridge Foundation selected Emmanuel at our annual scholarship award dinner. June 1, 2022 marked the culmination of our 2021-2022 school year efforts to select our scholarship recipient. This year’s event was hosted at Legion Brewery in South Park, where three of Mecklenburg County’s brightest seniors came to meet our group and present their case for earning the scholarship. Please read about our winner Emmanuel Boakye within the recipient section. Congratulations to all our finalists this year; it was a difficult decision to select our winner with each candidate providing such amazing vision of their desire and goals.
March 8,2022 | Bo Thompson of WBT
On March 8,2022, The Bridge Foundation hosted Bo Thompson of WBT at Middle C Jazz Club for our Spring 2022 Member Social. Patrick MacIssac, Bridge Foundation Scholarship Coordinator, also hosts a weekend morning radio show and was able to connect with Mr. Thompson and have him agree to speak with our group. Mr. Thompson held court on stage at Middle C for about an hour, discussing his career in radio (and some TV!) as well as some of the more memorable news events that he has been able to present during his tenure. The Bridge Foundation extends its sincere thanks to Mr. Thompson for his time and his candor in presenting at our recent event. The Bridge Foundation also appreciates its member and Middle C Jazz Club owner Adam Farber for providing the space for this event.
