Brandon Meeks

2005 Bridge Foundation Scholarship Recipient

My time and experience here at Western will be one that I will always remember. Not only have I gained knowledge, I have also made lasting friendships, and built networks that will aide me in my future career as an educator. Upon graduating from Western, I hope to obtain a teaching position in a high school here in North Carolina where I plan to direct and lead a successful championship band program. While teaching, I hope to pursue a Masters Degree in Music Composition. Also, after my first three years of teaching, I hope to begin work on my National Board Certification, and ultimately receive an Education Specialist degree in Elementary Administration to become an elementary school principal. All of these goals are reachable, and Western has certainly helped me lay the foundation that I need in order to be successful in achieving these goals. I definitely picked the university that was the perfect fit for me and I am very thankful to my parents, teachers, and the Bridge Foundation for helping me further pursue my education.
